Home Recovering

I'm finally out of the hospital (I was discharged yesterday afternoon.) I came home to Springville to my parents house to recooperate. I'm feeling much better than before. I'm still really sore, but altogether doing okay. I even got to watch the Jazz game with my parents last night. Go Jazz!!

I just had a doctor's appointment this morning to check my blood levels, and remarkably, they have gone up from a 1.6 to a 3.1 which is actually a little on the thin side, so I have to adjust my medication accordingly. I'm on two blood thinners-one that I inject into my stomach, and another that I take by pill form.

The doctors found out that I have a genetic blood clotting disorder called "Factor V Leiden." This means that my blood is just more prone to clotting and I will most likely have to be on blood thinners for the rest of my life, which is kind of a daunting thought.

I would like to thank all my wonderful friends, family, and co-workers, and parents of the children I teach who have been so wonderful. Your hospital visits and calls cheered me up and speeded up my recovery. Your magazines, books, and flowers got me through the boredom of the hospital and I'm so thankful for that.

I'm meeting with my internal medicine doctor on Monday, and a Coumadin specialist on Tuesay, so I'll keep you posted.

Thanks friends!
